With our new production facility now up and running in Swansea and our activity growing, we are looking for a Product Technician to support the second shift on our assembly operation.

The Role

Working alongside the assembly process, rectifying faults on products rejected on the assembly line, the jobholder’s responsibilities will include:

  • Fault finding on products failing during assembly
    • analysis down to component level
  • Rectifying faults where possible
    • e.g. swap defective component, re-solder circuit…
  • Reassembling product for reintroduction to production
  • Providing categorisation and pareto analysis of faults arising
  • Identifying effective corrective actions
    • implement and/or assign responsibility and track progress
  • Providing technical reports on issues arising
  • Supporting Development Engineers on introduction of new models and model revisions

The Person

Essential requirements:

  • Experienced in fault finding and rectification in an electronic assembly operation
  • Knowledge of PCB technology
  • Competent in soldering
  • Qualified in electrical/electronic engineering

Desirable requirements:

  • Working in a highly regulated industry, e.g. medical devices
  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

In addition, the successful candidate must have the following attributes

  • Highly analytical
  • Pro-active, collaborative, problem solving approach to issues
  • Self-starter, takes the initiative, willing to take responsibility
  • Able to interact and communicate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation
  • Able to provide technical information in a clear and concise manner

Salary and Benefits

40 hours per week on a one-week rotation of:
AM Shift – 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday
PM Shift – 14:00 to 23:00 Monday to Thursday, 14:00 to 18:00 Friday
