Dr Marc Clement is the chairman of CILT and Deputy Chairman of CyDen. A laser physics specialist, Marc first recognised the potential of light-based therapy in 1979 and has led innovation in this field ever since, holding 35 patents in the field of light-based beauty and health technology. Marc is Vice Chancellor of the University of Wales, in Swansea, and currently holds the Chair of Medical Devices and the Chair of Innovation at the university.
Dr Mike Kiernan has extensive clinical experience gained from almost two decades of working with light-based devices. He has championed eight FDA approvals including the first approvals in this field for hair removal, skin rejuvenation and acne. Mike holds 15 related patents.
Dr Gareth Stockman, a Senior Research Officer in the regenerative medicine group in the school of Medicine at Swansea University, has focused his research on the use of optical devices in the treatment of chronic disease, particularly in connective tissues and in wound healing and acne. He is an internationally acknowledged expert in the fields of optical light therapies and medical devices.
Dr Caerwyn Ash is an expert in the design and manufacture of optical devices and was closely involved with the production of the first iPulse devices. He has published extensively on the measurement of light based devices, leading the world in new developments to measure the intensity and efficacy of light emissions. This has enabled CyDen to control the output of its devices to a degree unsurpassed in the field.
Godfrey Town is a leading authority in light based therapy and its application. As one of the foremost independent laser protection advisers, he has worked with UK and international bodies in the development of regulations and standards for lasers and intense pulsed light.
